Boboto college, located in the commune of Gombe, recorded, on Tuesday October 1, the tragic death of one of its 7th year students, who killed himself voluntarily in his family home, located in the commune of Lemba.
The news of this tragedy, which spread on social networks, was confirmed by the president of teachers of Boboto college, Hugues Payenzo, contacted by 7SUR7.CD.
The latter did not give further details, but revealed that the parents of the student, named Ilongo, had personally come to alert the officials of this Catholic school.
The reasons for his suicide have not been officially communicated by his parents. However, according to a testimony posted on social media by a member of the Boboto College alumni group, Ilongo was found hanging with the rope hanging from the ceiling light of his room.
According to the same source, the situation began when the student repeated his class after failing when the results at the end of the 2023-2024 school year were announced. Frustrated, his parents decided to deprive him of certain rights and freedoms, probably in order to push him to give the best of himself for this new school year.
