FSRU Alexandroupolis: Today the commercial operation of the project

After the necessary tests carried out throughout the previous period, the FSRU Alexandroupolis is ready to be put into commercial operation, while it has already been characterized by the European Commission as a critical project for securing the natural gas supply of both Greece and of the wider area.

The delivery of the project brings with it multiple benefits, among them the connection it will have with the initiative for the Vertical Gas Corridor. The full activation of the Vertical Corridor, through the appropriate upgrading of the natural gas transmission networks of our country, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia will allow the transfer of natural gas from the South to the North and vice versa, through the European systems transport, taking advantage of the enhanced capabilities of the Gastrade terminal.

At the same time, 14 Greek and international companies are already participating commercially in the project, committing almost all of its capacity with a time horizon of at least until 2030.

The shareholders of the FSRU owned by the Gastrade company are Mrs. Elmina Kopelouzou (20%), Gaslog (20%), DEPA Emporias (20%), DESFA (20%) and Bulgartransgaz (Bulgarian Natural Gas Transmission Operator ) (20%).
