Pakistan cricket team’s fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi says that what the team has learned from the last two matches will be helpful in the next matches.

This will be Pakistan’s first match in Chennai while Afghanistan’s second match in a row. Pakistan will play their second match against South Africa on October 27 in Chennai.

In the ongoing World Cup in India, Pakistan has won two out of four matches so far, while it has faced defeat in the matches against India and Australia.

However, Pakistan team wants to win their next two matches and leave Chennai with victory.

In this regard, fast bowler Shaheen Afridi says that what the team has learned from the last two matches will be helpful in the next matches.

Speaking to PCB Digital, Shaheen Afridi said that he understands the expectations of the fans and we are all eager to fulfill those expectations.

“Defeat, defeat happens and we have to accept it, but it’s better for the team that we learn from it,” he said.

“The next two matches are very important for us, we are still in the tournament. We are here to make history by winning the World Cup.’

The match against Afghanistan in the World Cup will not be easy for Pakistan. Afghanistan had already come very close to winning against Pakistan in the recently played ODI series between the two teams.

Apart from this, talking about this World Cup, Afghanistan has surprised everyone by defeating the defending champions England.

Looking at the same performance of Afghanistan, Shaheen Afridi says that in a tournament like the World Cup, any team can beat anyone, so you can’t be complacent at all.

“Afghanistan team is playing well and they beat England. We have to show our best skills against him. They have world class spinners but our batting is also doing well.’

Shaheen Afridi says about the role of fast bowlers, ‘We have to focus on reverse swing in the later stages of the middle overs.’

According to him, the ball does not swing much in India compared to England and New Zealand.

‘It is important for the bowler to adapt to the conditions as the pitches do not have much bounce. In such a situation, good fielding also keeps the morale of the team high.

He says that dropping catches is part of the game, the important thing is to try and show energy in the field and how much you enjoy fielding.

Shaheen Afridi says that it was Osama Mir’s first match in the World Cup, but such catches are important, but you can’t blame someone just because of one drop catch. It’s a team game and you win and lose as a team, the important thing is that everyone plays their part for the team.

Usama Mir dropped David Warner’s catch in the match against Australia when he was only playing for ten runs, but later Warner helped his team to a big score by scoring more than 150 runs.
