Patrino Carnival 2025 already has its posters. For the first time so early, almost 4 months before the start of the great festival of Patras, the main poster of the Patronus Carnival 2025 and the main poster of the Children’s Carnival 2025 were selected by the jury for the selection of Carnival 2025 posters.

The posters were selected after the two Panhellenic Competitions announced by KEDIP-Patras Carnival very early this year and lasted from 07/26/2024 to 09/1/2024.

Patrino Carnival 2025: The two posters of the institution have been revealed! Imagination and color in focus!

This year’s entries in the pan-Hellenic competition for the selection of the central display poster of the Patronus Carnival 2025 exceeded any previous one, since the number of entries, three times that of last year, reached 39 and created a pleasant “headache” for the members of the jury.
Both of this year’s posters of P.K. 2025 had no theme and so their creators expressed their ideas and imagination in a free way.

The central poster of the 2025 Patrinos Carnival corresponds to its participation Maria Pylarinou of Michael and the Children’s Carnival 2025 poster corresponds to his participation Konstantinou Vemis of Elias.

For the Panhellenic Competition for the selection of the central poster of the Patronus Carnival 2025, 3 posters were distinguished with prizes:

1st Prize (Central Poster of P.C. 2025), which is accompanied by a cash prize in the amount of 700 euros: Maria Pylarinou of Michael (Participants: Maria Pylarinou of Michael-Filippos Botonis of Dionysiou)

2nd Prizehonorary distinction: Nikolaos Stamatopoulos of Andreou

3rd Prizehonorary distinction: Anastasia Lelouda of Gabriel (Participants: Lelouda Anastasia of Gabriel and Phoebus-Theodosios Memeletzoglou of Prodromos)

The reasoning behind the selection of the main poster of the Patronos Carnival 2025 as expressed by the jury is as follows: “The jury of the main poster of the Patronos Carnival 2025 has chosen the work of Maria Pylarinos and Filippos Botonis for the first Prize because the creative exudes sensitivity, a penchant for experimentation and storytelling. In fact, its composition leaves room for multiple readings by the audience».

In the rationale-support of their idea for the central poster of the 2025 Patrinos Carnival, Maria Pylarinou and Filippos Botonis state:
“Patrinos Carnival 2025

How to capture in one poster everything that the “Patrinos Carnival” symbolizes? So, we went back to all those moments when we participated and thought about what this very important institution of the city ultimately means to us and we tried to “attribute” everything that the Patrinos Carnival ultimately symbolizes, not only to the consciousness of the Patrinos, but also to the consciousness every Greek.

Carnival is aliveness, optimism, joy, fun, all emotions and above all human communication. Thus, the poster is dominated by human figures, movement and bright colors that reflect the mood and atmosphere of celebration of these days.”

The Children’s Carnival 2025 poster

The creator of the poster for the 2025 Children’s Carnival is Konstantinos Vemis

For the Panhellenic Competition for the promotion of the poster of the Children’s Carnival 2025, 1 poster was selected.

1st Prize (Children’s Carnival Poster 2025), which is accompanied by a cash prize in the amount of 300 euros: Konstantinos Vemis of Ilias

2nd and 3rd No award was given.

The jury’s reasoning for choosing the Children’s Carnival poster is as follows: “The proposal of Constantinos Vemis was chosen because it met the conditions of the notice and successfully approached all the objectives set in it. The conception of the idea and its graphic implementation, the artistic perfection in combination with the two figures of the little carnivalists, the colors and the floating confetti are consistent with the vitality, freshness, extroversion and constant movement of the Carnival of the Little ones serving the physiognomy and his messages”.

In the rationale-support of his idea for the poster of the 2025 Children’s Carnival, the winner Konstantinos Vemis states:
“The Children’s Carnival is a special experience for every child. The colors in the costumes, the confetti flying in the air, the music, all these are stimuli that excite a child and make his eyes shine seeing the Carnival yeast. So I wanted to capture this feeling in a poster, as best and as simply as I could so that it would be understandable for adults but especially for children. The colors that have been used represent the Fatherland Carnival (yellow, red, blue), while the two figures we see on the left and right are our little carnivalists who every year dress up, dance, sing to the rhythms of the Fatherland Carnival, sharing smiles with everyone those who see them”.

The joint Jury of the competitions

The five-member jury for the selection of both the main poster of the Patronus Carnival 2025 and the poster of the Children’s Carnival 2025 was staffed by the members of the Board of Directors of KEDIP – Patras Carnival Konstantinos Dragotis (Vice President) and Sophia-Maria Asimakopoulou (Regular Member) as well as the Antonis Papantonopoulos (Lithographer-Printer), George Maraziotis (Artist-researcher, holds an MA in Fine Arts from the Royal Academy of Antwerp, has studied Screen Printing at SVA in New York and has a BA in Visual Arts from the University of Wolverhampton) and Maria Manolopoulou (Art director, owner YelloOffice, graduate of Vakalo -Art & Design College), three fellow citizens whose qualities are fully related to the subject of the competitions.

The selection of a common jury for both pan-Hellenic competitions, by KEDIP-Carnival of Patras, in addition to its staffing with well-known figures in the field, harmonized with the direction of the company the spirit of the posters to be governed by a single and composed aesthetic and criteria.

It is worth emphasizing that the posters of the Fatherland Carnival 2025 were presented for the first time as an honor to all the members of the Thematic Working Groups for the P.K. 2025 at their 1st Meeting on the evening of Monday, September 23 at the Old Slaughterhouses effectively marking the start of their creative work for the P.K. 2025.

The awarding of prizes and honors for the main poster of the Patronos Carnival 2025 and the poster of the Children’s Carnival 2025, will take place during the event within the framework of the Patronos Carnival 2025.

KEDIP-Karnavali Patras congratulates the winners of the two pan-Hellenic competitions and warmly thanks all the participants for their interest and suggestions.
