He beat the nurse, now he will help the Auser volunteers: socially useful work for the attacker …

PESARO Punches, kicks and spit on the nurses in the Pesaro emergency room. The 25-year-old will now do socially useful work, but the beaten nurse is asking for 70 thousand euros in compensation. Yesterday before the single judge the case of a young man who in November 2021 showed up in hospital around 7.45pm in conditions of psychophysical alteration due to alcohol intake.

First he had punched a nurse, then another to a male nurse, who had broken his shoulder when he fell to the ground. Other colleagues including the then director of the emergency room Umberto Gnudi had intervened to help him. The young man had thrown a fit, insulting, scratching and spitting at the nurse, before attacking anyone who came within range. The intervention of other operators and the director of the emergency room had been necessary, as he was stuck for an hour and a half alone on the patient for visual surveillance, while the department was packed with people, about thirty waiting for assistance.

The aggression

The attack involved five nurses, one of whom had suffered a shoulder injury judged to be healable in 30 days. The short-term sedation intervention had been of no use: once the effect of the drug had worn off, the boy had started attacking the staff again, so much so that the intervention of the police became necessary. An episode that also led to a flash mob of healthcare workers forced to suffer various attacks at the time. The doctor filed a civil action through the lawyer Cecilia Ascani and requested 70 thousand euros in compensation. The lawyer Marco Defendini, the 25-year-old’s lawyer, had started the procedures for socially useful work. The young man will carry them out at Auser. You will have to proceed with a civil hearing for compensation.
