Deadline to submit application
PTC refund requests must be submitted by December 10 to receive the full refund as a one-time payment beginning January 2025. If requests are submitted by December 31, 2025, the refund will be processed within 10 weeks, or 12 weeks if payment is made by paper check.
It is important for applicants to track their application through the Department of Revenue’s online portal. Access requires a username and password. New applicants must register to use this feature.
To avoid potential refund delays, the address on the PTC application must match the information on the applicant’s ID or driver’s license. If the address needs to be updated, the change must be made through the Division of Motor Vehicles or directly online.
Applicants who do not have a Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) can apply for an Alternate Identification Number to complete the application process and receive a refund.
Who is eligible for the Stimulus Check?
To be eligible, applicants must meet several criteria. They must have resided in Colorado for all of 2023 and be at least 65 years old. Surviving spouses age 58 or older also qualify, as do people with disabilities of any age.
Eligibility is based on income and some essential expenses. Individual applicants must have income of $18,026 or less, while married couples filing jointly must not exceed $24,345. Additionally, they must have paid property taxes, rent or heating costs during 2023.
Another important requirement is that they cannot have been claimed as dependents on someone else’s tax return.
