what happens now –

Hezbollah’s confirmation of the killing of its leader Hassan Nasrallah in an Israeli air attack launched on Friday in the Dahieh neighborhood in southern Beirut, the heart of the Lebanese Shiite party, was expected but arrived almost 24 hours later. “The master of the resistance moved alongside his Lord like a great martyr”, the Lebanese group said via its representative broadcaster al-Manar. The assassination of Nasrallah, leader of Hezbollah since 1992, will not stop the fighting “in support of Gaza and Palestine and in defense of Lebanon”, assured the group, which has received messages of condolence and support from the Houthis. Yemen’s rebels, to express their support, launched a rocket, which was later intercepted, towards Israel, triggering an air alert also in Tel Aviv shortly after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s early return from the United States.

“Nasrallah was one of Israel’s greatest enemies of all time. His elimination makes the world a safer place”, was the announcement of Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari, who wanted to underline the precision of the bombing decided in a short time to exploit a “short window of opportunity” before the Lebanese leader disappeared from the radar. Tel Aviv’s fear now is that heavy revenge will come from Hezbollah. “Difficult days await us,” added Hagari, warning the population that a ban on gatherings of more than 1,000 people will come into force in several areas of the country. Despite the success of the operation, the IDF clarified that its offensive did not end with the death of Nasrallah. Words which were shortly followed by a new targeted air attack again on the Dahieh neighborhood which targeted and killed a high-ranking commander of Hezbollah’s intelligence division, Hassan Khalil Yassin. In the meantime, the number of deaths across the country has risen to 1,030 since the start of the Jewish State’s extensive military air operation, while over 211 thousand people have been displaced and 50 thousand have fled to Syria.

Hezbollah confirms Nasrallah's death: He is a martyr. And Iran moves troops

Iran, one of Hezbollah’s most loyal allies, is ready, as revealed by a senior Israeli official to NBC, to send its troops to Lebanon in the next few days. Tehran has not given confirmation on the matter but Ayatollah Mohammad Hassan Akhtari has not ruled out this possibility, recalling when a similar decision was made during the Lebanon War in 1982. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei asked all Muslims “to stay proudly stand with the people of Lebanon and Hezbollah against the usurping, oppressive and evil regime” in a message similar to that of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The Iranian president instead referred to the United States’ support for Israel: “The Americans cannot avoid complicity with the Zionists.” Joe Biden, while denying knowledge of the raid on Beirut, praised Nasrallah’s killing as a “measure of justice for his many victims, including thousands of Americans, Israelis and Lebanese civilians.”
