Battles between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces in northern Khartoum

Sudan – Battles continued between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces in the Al-Jili area, north of Khartoum, while reports indicated that the army strengthened its control over sites in the center of the capital.

Reports indicate that the Sudanese army has strengthened its control over sites in the center of the capital, Khartoum, with renewed clashes between its forces and the Rapid Support since dawn yesterday, Saturday, September 28.

Field military sources told Al Jazeera Net that the Sudanese army continued its advance in the center of the capital, Khartoum, with military reinforcements for the army across the White Nile Bridge.

Sudanese army forces control the Al-Muqrin tourist area as they advance east towards the Friendship Hall, and south towards the strategic areas located southeast of the stadium tunnel in the center of the capital.

The Sudanese army also launched heavy air strikes on rapid support sites south of Khartoum.

At dawn on Thursday, September 26, the Sudanese army launched a massive attack to take control of the capital, Khartoum.

Observers in Sudan unanimously agreed that the attack had success factors and was competently planned – according to experts – with the aim of controlling the capital and its three cities.

The army forces were stationed in the locations assigned to them, while rapid support attempts failed to repel them behind the three bridges in Omdurman, and they suffered great human and material losses.

Al Jazeera’s correspondent said that the Sudanese army succeeded in cutting off support for the Rapid Support Forces through the heavy overflights of its aircraft in the airspace of the three cities of the capital, making any supply adventure – via the so-called Al-Faa forces – almost impossible.
