JCDecaux strengthens its presence in Central America by acquiring the Costa Rican company IMC

PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–The world number one in outdoor advertising JCDecaux announced Tuesday that its subsidiary JCDecaux Top Media had acquired 70% of the number one outdoor communications company in Costa Rica, IMC, from its founders for an undisclosed amount.

As part of this operation, IMC’s historic shareholders contributed the 30% of their remaining shares in IMC in exchange for a 9% stake in a new joint venture bringing together all of JCDecaux’s activities in Central America. .

This new joint venture will be owned by JCDecaux SE (51%), the two minority shareholders of JCDecaux, Top Media Publigrafik and Top Partners, as well as the former shareholders of IMC.

Created in 2004 in Costa Rica, IMC is one of the leading outdoor communications companies in Central America and the number one in the sector in Costa Rica with a strong presence in the 6 regions of the country, holding a national network of approximately 4,000 faces analogue and digital advertising, JCDecaux said.
