Apple is studying the future of Vision Pro glasses…and developing screens with robotic arms

Apple is studying the future of its products, for the coming years, away from its traditional smart devices such as the iPhone, iPad, and Mac, according to a report by “Bloomberg“.

The American company is focusing on the smart glasses market, with its “Vision Pro” family of glasses, and is also preparing to compete in the smart screen market with robotic arms.

According to Bloomberg’s technical editor, Mark Gurman, sources within Apple revealed the presence of different visions among the Vision Pro glasses development team.

Apple Vision Pro future

One of these points of view sees the necessity of continuing to launch new versions of glasses, with attention directed towards offering a low-priced version. Those who support this trend believe that the company will need to use less advanced materials and components, and reduce the display quality of the screens, which will allow offering a version at a price much lower than the price. The first version, which started at $3,499.

They also aim to launch a second version with pioneering capabilities and a more advanced processor chip than the first generation of Vision Pro, in addition to the arrival of Apple’s smart features, Apple Intelligence.

As for the second direction for the future path of Vision Pro glasses, he believes that it is better to rely on iPhones as an external data processing unit while using it as a battery, so that the iPhone will be the engine operating the future Vision Pro glasses, the price of which will decrease significantly, after abandoning many of its internal components, the most important of which are : The central processing unit and external battery that currently power the Vision Pro glasses.

Gorman explains, in his report, that the third track believes it is important to develop new glasses similar to what Meta is currently offering with Ray-Ban, and Apple will be able to exploit its expertise in developing chips, audio technologies, and artificial intelligence tools to provide a product that convinces the public to buy it.

In addition, there are two other paths for the development of Vision Pro glasses. The first depends on the ongoing efforts of a team from Apple, aiming to develop a new version of the AirPods Pro wireless headphones, adding external cameras, while relying on artificial intelligence, as this version can ask questions and inquiries around the world. around him.

The last path depends on Apple diverting the efforts of the Vision Pro team towards developing augmented reality (AR) glasses, equipped with high-performance lenses, a built-in computing unit battery, in addition to providing them with high-resolution cameras, and an eye movement tracking system, and all of this comes in the design and structure of lightweight glasses, and in the form of… It is not much different from vision correction glasses or sunglasses.

Apple smarts at home

Gorman talked about additional features that reflect Apple’s future plans, as he explained that the American giant is also developing a smart screen that runs on an entirely new operating system, known as homeOS.

According to the report, the new screen, codenamed J490, will be dedicated to controlling smart home devices, along with a set of quick information from some Apple applications and services, such as the dates of the user’s daily routine from the Calendar application, and the most important Notes.

Apple has developed imaginative designs for the new device, relying on providing it with a magnetic mechanism to attach it to walls, or on surfaces such as a table.

The smart screen is the second of its kind to come to light. Weeks ago, Gorman revealed information from sources within Apple suggesting that the American company is developing a smart screen linked to a robotic arm.

This screen has the code number J595, and its size is closer to a device as well, and it can be moved at a 360-degree angle depending on the robotic arm. It is clear that it will be the main platform for controlling home appliances, while providing it with Apple Intelligence features, and the second screen will be an extension of it.
