In “red” h price of gasolinewhich is expected to climb even higher at the end of the month.
New forecasts from gas station owners for the increase in the price of unleaded gasoline. As the vice-president of the Attica Gas Stationers and Traders Association stated today in SKAI, in the coming days the price of unleaded petrol will exceed 2 euros per liter at the gas stations of the major urban centers.
«At the end of August the price of unleaded petrol will have disappeared. We are already on the 15th of the month. By the end of August, its price will have escaped and perhaps we will see the price of lead-free in the large urban centers go well above the level of 2 euros”, he noted.
“I believe that the price of lead-free in Athens will go above 2 euros as we see the forecasts and based on the developments” he added. After all, recently there have been very large increases in the price of gasoline. “I will tell you indicatively that in the previous 2 days there was a recession. This recession was not seen. Finally, we have reached a point where we can say that today there is an average price for gasoline of 1.96 euros per liter, but this is not representative,” he commented.
Gasoline prices on the islands
“On the islands, its price is already prohibitive and unfortunately, even as visitors, we do not enjoy the return of the transportation equivalent for the 33 islands, the Cyclades. There is a huge issue because this is only for permanent residents but it doesn’t solve the problem. The product is very expensive. What has been observed is the following: We do not see very large increases in the international prices of crude oil. Last Saturday the price of oil was at 84 dollars and yesterday it closed at 86.7 dollars.
These increases that have come to us within this week are so large that they are not commensurate with international crude oil prices. So it’s a matter of increasing market demand and decreasing inventory. And this maybe comes from the announcement made by the oil producing countries, who said that they will reduce the production and on the other hand it is after the war in Ukraine, which finally started to show in our pocket”.
