The 1st edition of the International Urban Art Meeting arrives in Villa Obrera

This event, known as Mural Circuitaims to promote street art and encourage the use of public space through activities that will strengthen community ties. For five days, residents and tourists will be able to enjoy a variety of cultural activities, including talks, open-air cinema, live music and a closing festival. This meeting seeks to make visible and raise awareness about the material and intangible heritage of the Villa Obrera, a neighborhood built in the 1950s for railway workers, considered a historical and cultural icon.

The Meeting has the support of the mayor Alejandra Rodriguezthe National University of Tucumán and private sector companies. Furthermore, it has been declared of cultural interest by the Cultural Entity of the Province of Tucumánhighlighting the importance of conserving the material and intangible heritage of Villa Obrera.

Schedule of the International Urban Art Meeting

Mars 1:

  • 11:30 hs: Inaugural event with the Youth Orchestra in Plaza Villa Obrera.
  • 12:30 hs: Guided walk through Villa Obrera with Juan Logusso (duration 30 minutes).
  • 15:00 a 18:00 hs: Mural painting in Plaza Villa Obrera.

Wednesday 2:

  • 10:00 a 18:00 hs: Mural painting in Plaza Villa Obrera.
  • 16:00 hs: Talk/Conversation in Plaza Villa Obrera.
  • 19:00 hs: Open-air cinema with the screening of “Oscar the Taxi Driver” in Plaza Villa Obrera.

Thursday 3:

  • 10:00 a 18:00 hs: Mural painting in Plaza Villa Obrera.
  • 15:00 hs: Visit of students from the School of Fine Arts in Plaza Villa Obrera.
  • 16:00 hs: Talk/Conversation in Plaza Villa Obrera.
  • 19:00 hs: Projection of “Rescue the mural” in Plaza Villa Obrera.

Friday the 4th

  • 10:00 a 18:00 hs: Mural painting in Plaza Villa Obrera.
  • 16:00 hs: Talk/Conversation in Plaza Villa Obrera.
  • 19:00 hs: Projection of “Memories of the Mural” in the Plaza Villa Obrera.

Saturday 5:

  • 16:00 hs: Conversation between artists led by Mariano Orell in the Plaza Villa Obrera.
  • 17:00 hs: Closing ceremony in Plaza Villa Obrera.
  • 18:00 hs: Presentation of the band La Asociación in the Plaza Villa Obrera.
  • 19:00 a 21:00 hs: DJ Elu Del Mal in Plaza Villa Obrera.

This event is possible thanks to the joint work of Fernando Gallucci, Florencia Vidal, Leandro Fernandez, Lucia Palenzuela, Mariano Orell y Veronica Corraleswho seek to revalue urban space and democratize access to art. All activities will be free and open access.
