Lady Gaga releases surprise album for the new “Joker” film

Lady Gaga’s new film hits theaters in October. Surprisingly, she has now announced a “companion album”.

Lady Gaga has surprisingly announced that she is releasing a new album this Friday, September 27th. The musician explained on Instagramthat it is a “companion album” to her new film “Joker: Folie à Deux” (in cinemas from October 3rd), in which she plays the role of Harley Quinn.

The album is called “Harlequin” and includes 13 tracks, with titles like “Smile”, “The Joker” and “Folie à Deux”. The songs “World on a String”, “Oh, When the Saints” and “That’s Life” also suggest some cover versions. On the album cover is Lady Gaga seen under a shower head with a life jacket around his neck and wet red-dyed hair.

In the past few days, Gaga has had several cryptic ones Instagram-Posts shared with lyrics and music that fans suspected were lyrics. The singer also teased a new project titled “LG 6.5” this week with huge billboards in Los Angeles and New York – a reference to her announced upcoming album “LG7,” which is scheduled to be released in February 2025. It is their first album since “Chromatica” in April 2020.

“Harlequin” is one of two albums based on the new “Joker” film that will be released on Friday. The Icelandic composer Hildur Guðnadóttir releases “Joker: Folie à Deux (Score From the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack”). The film with Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix will be released in German cinemas on October 3rd.
