The President of PASOK-Movement of Change pointed out that the first step was taken with the people of the faction and together they will take the next leap.
“Finally, is there anyone to beat Mitsotakis? I have been President for two and a half years. Tell me one defeat of the New Democracy brought about by Mr. Tsipras or Mr. Kasselakis, so that I can tell you how many defeats the New Democracy has from us. From the summer of 2022 with the wiretapping, when in order to save his chair, Mr. Mitsotakis sacrificed his nephew and the commander of the EYP, to the motion of no confidence for the 57 dead in Tempi, who again sacrificed his two closest associates. As many times as New Democracy has been exposed, it has always been on our initiative,” noted Mr. Androulakis.
He reiterated that all presidential candidates must respond to the moral commitment of unity and be candidates in the parliamentary elections.
“I expect the next day that they will all be candidates, -whatever the result-, on our national ballots. Anyone who aspires to become the leader of PASOK cannot but aspire to become its deputy”, said Mr. Androulakis.
“I promise that PASOK will make a bilateral expansion in value, without any compromise with any adventurer. We can succeed by following the path of ethics, consistency and reliability,” he added.
In front of his compatriots there was no lack of references in a more personal tone. “I was in the center of the faction, but on the fringes of power. I have not been a minister for one minute, one second in the state. But I was always at the center of developments. I served the faction as secretary, as MEP, as MP and as president. You have honored me and I am really glad that this special honor was done in a more powerful way than my native Crete. And I want to tell you that the price you did in 2021, gave me a huge debt on my back. I think we have taken the first steps. We are not a comma – complement. We are now a party that can unite both the Center and the Left, in a modern progressive and patriotic way, with new faces, with morals, with struggle, with conflicts inside and outside the Parliament”, he described.
