Famous American action hero Bruce Willis has become the first Hollywood star to sell the rights to create his ‘digital twin’ to a deepfake company.
According to a report in The Telegraph, the 67-year-old actor has given permission to American company Deep Cake to use a similar creation using deepfake technology in future projects.
Last month, it was announced that Bruce Willis suffers from aphasia, a disease that causes the loss of abilities such as speaking and hearing.
Bruce Willis, who decided to quit acting due to his illness, will continue to appear on screens thanks to the deal.
The famous actor had allowed the same company to use his face in a commercial last year.
A digital twin created by the Deepcake company was used in an ad for Megafon, a Russian-based operator and internet service provider.

In a statement shared on Megaphone’s website, the famous actor said that he liked the character he saw in the commercial and gave the following statement about the experience.
‘With the advancement of modern technology, I was able to stay in touch, work and participate in shooting even when I was on another continent.
‘It is a very new and exciting experience. Thanks to our entire team.’
Deepfake technology makes it possible to use visual and auditory ‘doubles’ of people in videos by superimposing an image on another person.
This technology was recently used in Star Wars.
Earlier doubles were used only for dangerous stunts but now technology has made this difficult.
