The Argentine Foreign Minister, Diana Mondino, reported that the Government of Argentina is negotiating safe passage for the six Venezuelan opponents who are taking refuge in the official residence of the embassy of that country in Caracas since March 26.
«We are managing it. “It’s not that easy,” said the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship in an event held in the city of Córdoba (central Argentina), according to an EFE publication.
Mondino assured that Refugee opponents have had the status of political asylum since last Friday, when it was granted to them by the Argentine authorities.
Last week, the Government of Argentina reported that Venezuelan refugee leaders suffered power interruption at the official residence of the Argentine embassy in Caracas.
Within the framework of the electoral pre-campaign in Venezuela, where presidential elections will be held on July 28, Foreign Minister Mondino recognized that Argentina cannot “interfere” in the internal political affairs of other countries.
“We can make a statement, but we do not interfere.”
The chancellor said.
