Yokohama DeNA BayStars won a close game. DeNA succeeded in taking the lead in the 6th inning, 0-0, with pinch hitter Toshiro Miyazaki’s 2-run No. 14. Starting pitcher Mitsuki Yoshino pitched six innings with no hits and no runs, joining Daimu Ise, Chihaya Sasaki, and Kohei Morihara to win the shutout relay. The Hanshin Tigers’ batting lineup was silent, with no hits until the 8th inning.
Chiba Lotte Marines won a close game. Lotte took the lead in the 7th inning with Polanco’s No. 23 solo. In the 9th inning, tied at 1-1, Toshiya Sato’s timely hit decided the game. Riku Kikuchi, the fourth-best pitcher, got his first win as a professional. The defeated Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles had eight hits, more than their opponents, but only scored one point.
The Saitama Seibu Lions dominated with batting and pitching. Seibu took a two-point lead in the third inning with a timely hit by Sosuke Genda. In the 7th inning, with the score at 4-0, consecutive hits by Aiya Nishikawa and Tatsuyo Sato scored 4 points and decided the game. Starting pitcher Natsuki Takeuchi earned his 10th win with a comfortable pitch of 8 innings with 3 hits and no runs allowed. The Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters did not perform well in batting and pitching.
The Fukuoka Softbank Hawks won the pitcher’s battle. Softbank took the lead in the 7th inning, 0-0, with Ryoya Kurihara’s No. 18 solo, which became the deciding point. As for pitching, starting pitcher Moinero pitched well with five scoreless innings. 3rd place Yuki Tsumori got his 5th win. The Orix Buffaloes had eight hits and no points, and their batting lineup was not connected, and they were unable to support the good pitcher Shunpei Yamashita.
