Fanny and Alexander was staged at Dramaten when the actor was 79 years old. In the roles were, among others, Marie Göranzon, Reine Brynolfsson, Livia Millhagen, Jonas Karlsson and Jan Malmsjö.

It has been several years since the popular actor was on the theater stage. The fact that he withdrew from the limelight has a simple explanation:
– I am ancient. I am almost 100 years old, says Jan Malmsjö.
He notes that, despite his age, he feels energetic.
– I feel excellent. I feel great. Because that is the main thing – that you feel good.
– Yes, health takes care of itself.
You’re 92 – What’s the Secret?
– It’s just a matter of filling up.
With what?
– Fill up with the years. There is nothing wrong.
“I keep myself busy”
Jan Malmsjö says that he still lives in the apartment on Strandvägen with his wife Marie Göranzon. They enjoy themselves there – with a view of the water.
How long have you lived there then?
– Yes, my God. I don’t know. I actually don’t know. Long.
In fact, it will soon be approaching a full 50 years, and more precisely, it was on September 18, 1978 that the moving load went there.
What do you do these days?
– I have nothing for me. I don’t have that. I work so that I have enough, says Malmsjö and continues:
– It’s walking and reading books and it’s… Yes…
Malmsjö: “If they were to ask me – maybe”
Jan Malmsjö has a long acting career under his belt, but standing in front of the camera or on stage is nothing he misses.
– No. I go and watch those who do and that is enough. That’s enough, so to speak.
Do you feel ready for it?
– Yes, if they were to ask me, I would perhaps… Yes, try a little more. But no, it’s fine as it is.
