Mitsotakis at the ministerial office: We are concerned about the developments in the Middle East – Safe Youth will soon be operational for the protection of children 2024-09-30 21:57:24

“Developments in the Middle East worry us all very much. Greece has a principled foreign policy and remains a pillar of stability in the region. It is a policy that runs through the daily policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and we will always fight for peace in the region. We want to avoid the bad scenario of the generalization of war. For the Greeks in the area, we have drawn up an evacuation plan with all partners for the possible provision of humanitarian aid to Lebanon,” the prime minister stressed.

The prime minister referred to the measures announced at the TIF “to support income and the family and the planning of recruitment for the public sector and all this in the context of the new Medium Term which will form the basis of this year’s state budget. It will be presented in detail by the finance minister because it recommends a different methodology and achievement of fiscal goals. In the medium term, an encouraging course is recorded for the country’s public finances, and I also found that out in my contacts with investors.

He added that a fiscal space is being formed with targeted spending in favor of the citizen for the next 4 years. Greece does not belong to the countries that are currently in excessive deficit status. We are leaving behind us the times of fiscal diversions. There are new spending caps on an annual basis and they are decoupled from the flow of revenue and allow us to implement the program we were elected to do. We have an explosion of the public investment program.”

“Soon we will present the new Safe Youth application to alert a child when he is in danger,” Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said in his presentation to the cabinet. “Youth delinquency is a complex issue. In the interventions we have made, we have shown good reflexes. We have the possibility to toughen the penalties, while there will be a need for regulatory intervention at the European level to deal with the issue at its root”, the Prime Minister commented on the violence against minors.

He then referred to the reduction of tolls on Attiki road, from 2.80 to 2.50 and exemption for disabled cars. “Tolls on Attiki Odos are reduced to 2.5 euros. Vehicles owned by disabled people will also be exempted. The new concessionaire undertakes the full operation and maintenance even in emergency conditions” said the Prime Minister.

At the same time, the prime minister spoke about demographics and the regulation of red agricultural loans. “We have the new demographic plan and our overall housing policy. New recruitments will also be approved, nearly 20,000 in firefighting, health and armed forces“, he characteristically said.
“In closing, I want to refer to the regulation of red agricultural loans. It is a bold plan and will free up mortgaged land and is one of many measures for the primary sectorhe concluded.

Mr. Mitsotakis closed by referring to an important initiative of the Ministry of Rural Development, in particular in regulation of “red-light loans” as he characteristically said concerning more than 20,000 producers and 750 cooperatives. He emphasized that this move will give a breather from a problem that unfortunately comes to us from the times of crisis, and is one of the many measures to support the primary sector.

Concluding, Mr. Mitsotakis did a special reference to the birthday of the ND saying that “on Friday we will all go to Rigillis to celebrate the 50 years of the New Democracy making yesterday’s strength, today’s result and tomorrow’s hope”. He pointed out that with the conference it has already been answered why the ND withstood so well the shocks of the Post-colonialism and is today so strong.
