FIFA sanctioned Samuel Eto’o for his behavior during the round of 16 match of the U20 Women’s World Cup between Brazil and Cameroon (3-1) in early September. The former world-class striker is due “Violations of Article 13 (offensive behavior and violations of the principle of fairness) and Article 14 (misconduct of players and officials) of the FIFA disciplinary regulations will result in a stadium ban from all games of the Cameroonian association teams for six months.”as it says in an official statement from the world association.

What exactly Eto’o was guilty of has not yet been leaked. The 43-year-old has been president of the Cameroon Football Association since December 2021. The former professional, who played for FC Barcelona, among others, had been noticed a few times before with inappropriate behavior, for example when he threatened national coach Marc Brys in front of the camera.
