The chairman of the Přísaha movement Róbert Šlachta will be a senator in the electoral district of Břeclav. He won 58.88 percent of the vote. Thanks to him, the movement will become a parliamentary party. Šlacht’s rival Miloslav Janulík (ANO) received 41.11 percent of the vote. 14.59 percent of voters took part in the second round of elections, 33 percent voted in the first round a week ago. The current senator Rostislav Koštial (ODS) failed in the first round of the election.
Schlachta also won the first round of the senate elections. He won 24.74 percent of the votes, the second Miloslav Janulík (ANO) 22.54 percent of the votes. The nobility is the first member of the Oath to ever reach the Senate. But after the first round, he said that his progress to the second round was only a very weak consolation. “I am the chairman of the movement and the result of the entire movement is more important to me,” said Šlachta. The oath was unsuccessful in the regional elections, it did not win a single representative in any region.
In January 2021, he announced the decision to found the political movement Přísaha, which was registered in April of the same year. The nobility is its chairman. In the 2021 parliamentary elections, the movement under his leadership won 4.68 percent of the vote and thus did not make it to the lower house. From 2022, he is a representative of the city of Pohořelice in the district of Brno-venkov.
From 2008 to 2016, he was the director of the Organized Crime Investigation Unit (ÚOOZ). The ÚOOZ gained the most attention in June 2013, when it intervened in the government office and other places in a case involving, among others, Jana Nagyová (now Nečasová), a close associate of former Prime Minister Petr Nečas (ODS) and alleged political corruption. The intervention led to the fall of the government.

Szlachta: I want to focus on the completion of the D52 highway
Schlachta described the result as amazing. “Especially after the last week, when everyone united against us in support of Janulík – ODS, Social Democrats and SPD. Andrej Babiš (ANO) came to Břeclav and Pohořice, but he didn’t help either and we pushed through,” said Šlachta.
“My message to this government is absolutely clear, I will be in the opposition and I will certainly not be the one who will vote with this government,” he announced. He mentioned two topics that he would like to address in the Senate. The first is the completion of the D52 highway from Pohořice to Mikulov to the Austrian border, which the Directorate of Roads and Highways (ŘSD) failed to push through in individual sections in previous years and decided to prepare it as one section. “It is necessary to initiate negotiations with the ŘSD and find out what the problem is, I would like to get involved in it,” announced Šlachta.
The second topic is the protected landscape area of Soutok, the creation of which is ready and should become a reality next year after half a century of debate. “I don’t want to decide whether it should be or not. But I want to focus on how the state treats land owners, municipalities and citizens,” said Šlachta.
