According to Francine Henry, vice president of the CC CVL, the aim is to “revive interest in science” in order to attract more individuals to scientific and technical fields, with a particular focus on women. In France, less than 25% of mathematics researchers at universities are women.
More broadly, this science festival aims to “help people understand the scientific method to enhance citizens’ critical thinking”, adds Julie Godard-Leboffe, director of the intercommunality library network.
