Liverpool’s position on the “mythical” Saudi offer for Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah’s 32-year-old contract with the Reds expires at the end of the current season, and so far renewal talks have not developed with English team officials.

In the Mercato last summer, the Jeddah Federation tried to obtain Salah’s services, but the matter failed and Liverpool insisted on keeping the player.

According to reports, the Saudi Public Investment Fund allocated an astronomical salary to entice Salah, within a two-year contract with the option of adding a third year, in order to join the Roshan League.

If the deal is completed, Salah will become the most expensive player in the history of football, surpassing Neymar’s transfer from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain, which amounted to 222 million euros in 2017.

According to a report by the English CaughtOffside network, Salah’s salary will reach 85 million euros, equivalent to 4 times his current salary in the English Premier League.

But the Football Insider network confirmed that Liverpool is not concerned about everything that has been raised recently regarding Salah.

The report added that Liverpool is confident of its ability to reach an agreement regarding signing a new contract with the Egyptian star.

Press reports indicated that Liverpool intends to begin talks with Salah, in the coming weeks, in order to renew his contract.

Mohamed Salah left after his club’s match against Manchester United in the Premier League, and confirmed that the decision to renew his contract was in the hands of the Reds management.
