PAN will challenge judicial reform –

MEXICO CITY (El Universal).— The PAN parliamentary group in the Senate announced that after extensive analysis, it decided to challenge, through various legal actions, the form and substance of the judicial reform.

The coordinator of the National Action senators, Guadalupe Murguía Gutiérrez, considered that during the approval of the reform not only were various irregularities recorded in the legislative process, but it also contravenes various provisions established in the Constitution.

The senator from Querétaro explained that among the main procedural irregularities is the violation of protection suspensions of various federal courts that prevented discussion and voting, as well as the lack of opportunity for the new legislatures to open forums and spaces for discussion that would allow an in-depth study of the reform.

In a statement, he stated that during the discussion in the Chamber of Deputies there was an irregular change of venue, which led to a lack of certainty for the legislators’ vote, since presumably it was not carried out in accordance with the law.

Furthermore, he assured that the approval of the reform violated the rights of indigenous peoples and communities, since modifications were made to their electoral rules, without consulting them regarding article 2 of the Constitution.

Guadalupe Murguía insisted that the PAN bench will take various actions “that will have to be defined at the time” to request the invalidity of the judicial reform.

In turn, the leader of the PAN, Marko Cortés, stated that President López Obrador leaves a country mired in a spiral of violence and a legacy of death, such as has never been seen in the history of Mexico.
