Before kick-off, Trippier runs onto the pitch in bright red Adidas kicks. After just a few minutes, the defender seemed dissatisfied, and in the 15th minute he swapped the Adidas X Speedflow model on the sideline.

It is now not uncommon for footballers to change shoes during the game. As a reminder: At the 2024 European Championship, superstar Cristiano Ronaldo suddenly wore someone else’s shoes in the 3-0 win against Turkey.
What’s surprising this time is that Trippier’s kicks come from different manufacturers.
While Trippier’s left foot initially remains in the Adidas version, after a quarter of an hour the right foot is in a purple shoe from Puma (Ultra cleat model).
Apparently to the satisfaction of the former England international (54 caps), who also switched to the Puma shoe on his left foot later in the game.

According to media reports, Trippier’s contract with supplier Adidas is said to have expired after ten years. Since the summer, the defender has no longer been tied to the shoes of the German sporting goods manufacturer. And now testing other models…
Trippier is not yet officially under contract with Puma.
