Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who entered the presidential race as an independent third-party candidate rather than a Democrat or Republican, but withdrew from the candidacy after endorsing former President Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, is making contradictory moves regarding the list of candidates to be included in the ballot. A report came out on the 29th (local time).

There is speculation in the American media that former President Trump’s team may be seeking to create chaos after the presidential election by filing a series of lawsuits challenging election rules and practices.

Kennedy Jr. recently asked the U.S. Supreme Court to include his name on the New York State presidential ballot, asserting his constitutional right to run for president, the U.S. Internet media Slate reported on this day. The irony is that he asked the Wisconsin Supreme Court to remove his name from the ballot, claiming his constitutional right not to run for office.

Because it is too late to print new ballots in Wisconsin, Kennedy Jr. is requesting that his name be covered with a sticker on about 4 million printed ballots.

The exact reason why Kennedy Jr. requested that his name be included in New York is unknown. However, the media speculated that requesting names belatedly may reflect an intention to cause confusion in the election and undermine trust in the election results.

In Wisconsin, a swing state, it is interpreted that he decided that he could help former President Trump get elected by clearing his name. However, there are concerns that putting stickers on ballots as requested by Kennedy Jr. could cause problems with the vote counting machine. In this case, manual counting is inevitable.

The New York Times also reported that Republican groups are filing more than 90 lawsuits across the United States this year challenging presidential election rules and practices. According to Democracy Docket, an election litigation tracking platform established by the Democratic Party, former President Trump’s legal offensive is already more than three times the number of lawsuits filed before the 2020 presidential election.

According to the NYT, the Republican Party’s lawsuit first focuses on disqualifying voters who are likely to be Democrats. However, most lawsuits are filed too late or are based on unfounded and obviously false claims, which are of the view that they are highly likely to fail.

Regarding this, the NYT said, “Considering the scale of the lawsuit and the too-late timing of filing the lawsuit, comments from Republican officials or Trump associates suggest that there is a larger goal behind these efforts (filing the lawsuit),” and “to challenge the results after voting.” “It’s about laying the groundwork for raising issues,” he pointed out.

Meanwhile, at a campaign rally held in Erie, Pennsylvania, former President Trump once again attacked Vice President Kamala Harris, accusing her of having a ‘mental disorder’. He said, “Kamala Harris, who is lying, I honestly believe she was born that way (with a mental disorder),” and added, “There is something wrong with Kamala. I don’t know what it is, but there’s definitely something missing. “And we all know it.”

Former President Trump was criticized by some Republicans for making groundless personal attacks at a campaign rally in Wisconsin the previous day, saying, “He is mentally damaged and mentally disabled,” but he ignored this and repeated personal attacks. “Hundreds of people have already been killed because of her actions at the border,” he said. “She should be impeached and prosecuted for those actions.”
