Muhammad Yusuf resigned as selector due to ‘personal reasons’

Former Pakistan cricketer Muhammad Yousuf has announced his resignation from the position of selector of the cricket team on Sunday.

Muhammad Yusuf said in a statement on X that he had taken this decision for ‘personal reasons’.

He has said in his statement that ‘I am announcing my resignation from the position of selector of Pakistan cricket team due to personal reasons.’

He says, ‘It is an honor for me to serve this wonderful team and I am proud that I have played my part in the growth and success of Pakistan Cricket.’

Former Test cricketer Muhammad Yousuf added, “I have immense confidence in the talent and passion of our players. I wish the team all the best as it continues to strive to become a great team.”

The Pakistan Cricket Board has also confirmed Muhammad Yousuf’s resignation and said that ‘Muhammad Yousuf has voluntarily resigned from his responsibility as a member of the national selection committee.’

In a statement issued by the PCB, it has been said that Muhammad Yousuf wants to focus on other important responsibilities in the Pakistan Cricket Board.

There has been a series of resignations or removal from positions in the board and team in Pakistan for some time now, in which Muhammad Yusuf has also been added.

In July this year, PCB sacked selectors Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq after the team’s disappointing performance in the T20 World Cup.
