León, the baby that Juliana Galvis lost. This is the moving story

The journey of how she became part of Colombian television is truly commendable, as her family was never supportive of her acting aspirations. Nonetheless, she demonstrated her determination to pursue her dreams, and after several trips to Bogotá, she managed to enter the entertainment industry and continues to stay relevant. She began her acting career in 2003, and since then, she has had the privilege of participating in various Colombian productions and on well-known platforms.

“León is my baby in heaven. León was a baby I lost, and he is in heaven. Pedro and I were going through a tough time; we had separated for the first time, and I moved to the United States. He (Pedro) came to visit, and we attempted to rebuild our relationship, and during that time, I became pregnant without realizing it. At the school where I was studying, they required me to get a vaccine, which is a common requirement. I had already received it, but without the necessary support, I had to get it again, not knowing I was pregnant.”

After receiving the vaccine, she discovered she was pregnant and was made aware of the risks to her baby. “The risk of death due to malformation was imminent. I spoke to God and consulted many doctors. Some advised me to have an abortion, while others encouraged me to proceed with the pregnancy. I decided to continue and hoped everything would turn out fine.

Everything seemed to be going well; she thought the challenging part was behind her and that her pregnancy was progressing smoothly. “When I arrived in Colombia, everything felt fine to me, but it turned out that León had gone to heaven, and that was a devastating blow. I felt guilty, even though it was out of my control, and I always dreamed of giving my daughter a little brother.”

The loss of León has been one of the most challenging experiences in her life, particularly because of the dreams she held at that moment. “Today, he accompanies us from heaven, and I am certain he is with people who are very dear to me. I have a battalion in heaven—my parents, my grandparents, and my uncles.”

In addition to losing León, the death of her mother also took a heavy toll on her. “It happened very quickly and unexpectedly for me. However, I am grateful that she did not suffer. On December 14, 2023, she came to my house for lunch; I sensed something was wrong, and we rushed to the hospital, but she passed away on January 8 due to advanced cancer.”

She added, “Those last moments are etched in my heart because we were able to share that closeness, and she felt how much I loved her. She passed away without ever knowing she had cancer, and I am thankful for that because she left this world peacefully.”

Juliana expressed her regret over not having called her mother, realizing it was too late by the time she wanted to. “When someone leaves so suddenly, it’s a reminder that we often make mistakes with the people we love. I wish I had made that call because we spoke at noon, but I didn’t reach out later, and there were so many things I could have told her.”
