The founder of Šiauliai bankas died Business

The Šiauliai “LIONS” club announced this on Facebook.

“Sadness… the club members today lost an honorable member – ZENONO EIMUČIS SABALIS – the 7th (2000/2001) club president, charter member. Condolences to Zeno’s relatives. Rest in peace great personality,” the club wrote.

The deceased will be cremated on September 27. 1:00 p.m. in the great hall of the Šiauliai mourning house.

The funeral will be held on September 28. 12:00 p.m.

Z. Sabalys, born in Kaunas in 1939, was an engineer, banker, social worker, and Esperanto speaker. In 1992, he founded the Šiauliai bank and worked as its manager, then for some time he also worked as the director of the Šiauliai branch of the bank “Snoras”.

While studying at Kaunas Polytechnic Institute, ZESabalys learned Esperanto and corresponded with people from different countries.

1960 at the end of 1961 at the beginning, he was engaged in the work of fixing the Ventės horn lighthouse: he poured the embankment, transported stones from the Skuodas district, laid the embankment for it.

in 1962 married and moved to Šiauliai. He worked as an engineer, then as a boss in the 6th Šiauliai Mechanization Board, which under his leadership became one of the best construction organizations in Lithuania. in 1974 for merit in construction Stone cement factory awarded the honorary title of Lithuanian meritorious engineer. He participated in all constructions in Šiauliai at that time, built Bicycle factory, Television factory, Riga tire factory, Räkyva peat company, factories “Nucleon“, “Mechanika”, Milk and Meat Combines, residential buildings, schools, kindergartens, KPI Palace, Engineers House, where he was later appointed to head the Culture Section.

in 1979 appointed deputy chairman of the city’s Executive Committee, then first deputy in charge of city construction and architecture. Actively participated in the design, protection and construction of objects dedicated to the 750th anniversary of the city of Šiauliai in Vilnius, and later many large scientific, educational, medical, and sports objects.

in 1992 closed Šiauliai tennis courts opened on the initiative of ZESabalis. The Šiauliai Tennis School was founded in them (now the head of the Šiauliai Tennis Academy).

in 1990 August – 2003 in November engaged in banking, founded Šiauliai bank and worked as its manager, later the bank “SnoreŠiauliai branch director.
