The arrested medical students were presented before the Public Prosecution in Rabat, and these are the charges against them

Informed sources revealed that today, Friday, starting at eleven in the morning, 27 students at Rabat College, intern doctors, and residents were presented before the public prosecutor at the Court of First Instance in Rabat, in a state of release, after they were arrested during the protest in which they participated yesterday, Thursday, in front of the University Hospital in Rabat. .

The same sources belonging to the National Committee for Medical, Pharmacy, and Dentistry Students explained that among those arrested were two members belonging to this committee, in addition to two other members from the Office of Medical and Pharmacy Students, and other students.

The same sources confirmed that it was decided to prosecute the students concerned on charges of “unlicensed assembly, disobedience, and non-compliance with authorities’ orders,” noting that their first trial session has been set for Wednesday, October 23.

The aforementioned sources stressed that 25 male and female lawyers volunteered to support the students, interns and residents during their appearance before the Public Prosecution, noting that among them was Aziz Rouibah, head of the Rabat Bar Association.

It should be noted that the protest, in which dozens of students, internists, and residents participated yesterday, Thursday, at the invitation of the National Committee for Internists and Residents, was broken up by public forces in the capital, Rabat, which left a widespread wave of condemnation among a number of bodies supporting Doctors of Tomorrow.
