“Every vote counts,” appealed Nehammer, whose ÖVP is predicted to have a close race with the FPÖ. He made it clear that it was important to prevent radical forces from gaining traction. He stands for stability.
Nehammer voted in a pensioner’s house in his residential district of Hietzing. He came on foot, accompanied by his wife and dog. “Voting is always a good thing,” he said cheerfully. Sunday will be an “exciting day” and it will be about a decision on the direction. Conversations with people during the election campaign showed that there are still many worries, although there is more confidence again after the difficult years.
