30 years ago happened
one of the worst accidents
in Sweden’s history.
The accident still does
many people sad.
It was September 28, 1994.
The large ferry M/S Estonia sank.
The ferry was on its way
from Estonia to Sweden.
852 people died.
Only 137 survived.
Now there is a new book
in easy-to-read Swedish about Estonia.
The book is called Look at the Estonia disaster.
It’s Bengt Fredrikson
and Moa Candil who has written it.
The book tells
about what happened
when Estonia sank.
Most people who took the ferry
was from Sweden.
In the book you can read about
some of those who survived.
Many experts have investigated the accident.
They say Estonia broke up.
That’s why the ferry sank.
But many want to know more
about what happened.
No person has become
punished for the accident.
In the book you will find out
what happened afterwards.
You will also find out why the ferry
still remains
at the bottom of the Baltic Sea.
