The British actor candidly admitted that he said yes to the film with Jared Leto purely for financial reasons.
During a chat with a British newspaper, Jared Harris delved into the process that leads an actor to accept certain projects. Interviewed about his next film, Reawakening, Harris looked back on some of his career.
In particular, he responded to one question about the much criticized Morbiusa Marvel film produced by Sony and directed by Daniel Espinosa, starring Oscar winner Jared Leto. Harris participated in it as Dr. Emil Nicholas.

“I have a mortgage to pay” the actor answered sincerely “Sometimes you say yes to certain things because you need to earn money”. In the film, he starred alongside Leto ashomonymous protagonist and Game of Thrones star Matt Smith as the antagonist.

Based on the comic book character, Morbius follows the stories of Doctor Michael Morbius (Leto) who unintentionally transforms into a vampire while developing a cure for a blood disease he lives with. His brother Milo (Smith) also gains vampire powers, leading the two to clash on the streets of New York.
Jared Harris is among the best-known actors internationally and in his career he has starred in well-known productions such as Mad Men, Chernobyl and The Crown. In cinema, he is known to the general public for playing the professor Moriarty nel franchise di Sherlock Holmes starring Robert Downey Jr. in the role of the famous private investigator of Baker Street and Jude Law in the role of the trusty Doctor Watson.
Jared Harris’ last participation in cinema dates back to 2023 in the film Brave the Dark, directed by Damian Harris. On TV he participated in the Apple TV+ TV series, Foundation, in which he starred with Lee Pace, Lou Llobell, Laura Birn and Terrence Mann. The series, produced by David S. Goyer, is loosely based on the literary saga of the same name by Isaac Asimov.
