Dynamic entry of HELLENiQ Renewables into the field of Electric Energy Storage

All the bids submitted by RAAE were accepted HELLENiQ Renewablesa subsidiary of HELLENiQ ENERGY, in the first competition held in our country for the granting of Investment and Operating Aid to Electric Energy Storage Stations (EES).

The Waste, Energy and Water Regulatory Authority positively evaluated and included in the list of eligible projects all three (3) Stations, with a total power of 100 MW and a guaranteed (useful) capacity of 200 MWh of energy, with which HELLENiQ Renewables participated in the 1st Competitive Bid Submission Procedure (RAAEF Notice 1/2023).

The HELLENiQ Renewables Storage Stations have been licensed for positions within the Thessaloniki Industrial Facilities of HELLENiQ ENERGY. The largest is rated at 50 MW and the other two at 25 MW. They will be implemented using existing infrastructure (road networks, fencing, security systems/facilities, etc.), while 150 kV high voltage transmission lines pass through the area.

The Stations were evaluated by the ERAEF as eligible to receive the investment aid of €200,000 per MW and the operational aid, as it is formed by the final approved offers. SAHE is expected to be actively active in all the individual components of the Greek wholesale electricity market, from which they will derive their revenues. Storage permits are valid for 25 years.
