Marek Hilšer from the Senate – News

“It is necessary to show that politics concerns each of us. A person cannot do much alone, but it is necessary to create synergies and bring together people who see things similarly,” said Bárta, an Egyptologist, archaeologist and scientist who was nominated by the government’s TOP 09 and the Mayors, in his first reaction to ČT.

According to him, voters need to be shown that the world is better.

Only 15.01 percent of voters came to vote in Prague 2.

Hilšer’s failure is also a loss for the Pirates

Hilšer’s failure is sad news for the Pirates as well. Although Hilšer was a member of the STAN club in the Senate, this year he ran under the banner of the Pirates and his party “Marek Hilšer to the Senate”. The pirates thus did not win any mandate in this year’s senate elections.

Hilšer was elected to the upper chamber in 2018, after he failed in the presidential elections. He ran for the head of state again in 2023, when he received only 2.5 percent of the vote, and was defeated by the then SPD candidate Jaroslav Bašta.

During his first fight for a seat in the Senate, Hilšer founded the “Marek Hilšer to the Senate” party, thanks to which he received a mandate contribution from the state from 2018. In addition, he received a senator’s salary and allowances.

The news and other media have previously pointed out that his party does not function as a standard political group, does not have a broad membership base and does not show any activity. Now he will lose the state allowance, which amounts to 900,000 per year.

I need money for my activities, Hilšer defends his trick. At the same time, the Senate allows them for free
