The mayor of Bat Yam, Zvika Brot, issued a special announcement to the public yesterday (Wednesday morning), according to which:
“A short time ago, alerts were activated in the north of Gush Dan due to a single shot in the center of the country, but no alarms in the Bat Yam area. This is an expected event, for which we have been preparing for the past few days. This is one rocket that was intercepted in the middle of the sea, off the coast of Herzliya, without damage or casualties. Accordingly There is no change in policy. The studies are taking place as usual, as well as the other planned events. The routine continues, but we are prepared for any further developments.”
The mayor emphasized that, “in accordance with the preliminary preparations I instructed, the shelters in the city are already open – just in case. In the next hour I will conduct another situation assessment with the municipal security forces, the army and the police and will continue to update you on any developments around the clock. I would like to remind you that the municipal hotline 107 is at your disposal in Hebrew and Russian for all A question or a request for assistance. I know that this is an unpleasant situation, which can cause a lot of stress. However, it is important to remember that there is no reason to panic – but it is necessary to follow the instructions.”

Already on Sunday, the Home Front Command changed the defensive instructions from the Haifa line to the north – in the areas of the Lower Galilee, the Upper Galilee, the Gulf, the Kiryats, the valleys and the center of the Galilee, and some of the settlements of the South Golan (Jordan Valley Regional Council). But already on Friday, moments before Shabbat, Bat Yam Mayor Tzvika Brot announced that he had assessed the situation with the army and the municipal emergency services and instructed to strengthen the municipal emergency system during the weekend.

On Monday evening, Defense Minister Yoav Galant’s proposal to declare a special situation on the home front in the entire territory of the country until next Monday was accepted in an urgent telephone poll in the government.
It should be emphasized that the declaration of a special situation in the home front does not affect the citizens, and it is not about the defense policy or the directives of the Home Front Command, but rather a situation that allows the IDF and the state authorities to quickly make decisions on a quick change of the situation – including powers to the Minister of Economy to leave workers in essential places and the like.
This declaration allows the Home Front Command to exercise powers continuously, and among other things, to quickly activate, if necessary, alerts and instructions to the residents. These are only preparatory steps of the Israeli home front.”

Classes are held as usual, and there is no change in the guidelines regarding workplaces or gatherings. However – it is important to familiarize yourself with the directives of the Home Front Command and make sure that you are prepared for any situation of sudden change.
Pay attention to the important instructions that are important to know because they save lives:
Within a minute and a half from the moment the alarm sounds, you must enter the emergency room or the shelter, and stay there for ten minutes.
There is no MMD or shared/public shelter? Enter an inner stairwell, and if there isn’t one – enter an inner room.
In an open area – stay as far away from the vehicle as possible, lie on the floor and cover your head with your hands.
In a populated area – enter a nearby shelter or an internal stairwell and go upstairs.
Did a rocket fall in your area? Please avoid coming to the arenas, and do not approach or touch the remains of rockets, which may contain explosives – this should be reported without delay to the 100 hotline of the Israel Police.
