DISTRESSING, the body of a woman was found folded in a cloth cupboard in the room of the Sikembar Boarding House in the Pakuan Baru area, South Jambi District, Jambi City on Wednesday (25/9) evening.
The victim, Resti Widia, 30 years old, was found without clothes, with both hands tied behind his back. Several bruises were found on his face, believed to be the result of violence.
The Head of Public Relations of the Jambi Regional Police, through the Head of the Sub-Directorate for Public Affairs, Commissioner M Amin Nasution, Thursday (26/9), confirmed the discovery of the woman’s body which shocked the residents of Jambi City.
The police, said Amin Nasution, are currently still carrying out investigations to uncover the victim’s death. The body of a woman from Nengger Village, Serang Regency, Banten Province, was taken to the Jambi Police Bhayangkara Hospital for a medical examination.
Amin said that the victim’s body was first discovered by his friend and boarding house owner. His friend Reni was suspicious because the victim’s cellphone had not been active since Wednesday afternoon. The witness went to the victim’s boarding room, but it was locked.
Because she had a bad feeling, Reni, assisted by the victim’s adoptive brother, Imron, then broke into the boarding house and found the victim dead horribly in the wardrobe. (N-2)
