An increase was recorded in the percentage of filling dams in Morocco, estimated at 3.29 percent compared to last year, after the total percentage of filling the kingdom’s dams reached 28.91 percent, with a reserve of four billion and 849 million cubic meters, according to data from the Ministry of Equipment and Water issued on Friday, September 27, 2024.

The reasons for this increase are due to the rainfall recorded recently in the south and southeast of the Kingdom, which led to the recovery of the water bed in a number of regions, and recorded an increase in the filling rate of water basins, especially Ker Ziz Gris, Draa-Oued Noun, Moulouya, and Souss-Massa.
In this context, the Lokos Basin recorded the largest filling rate, amounting to 42.25 percent, i.e. an average of 727 million cubic metres, while the Tansiqit Basin recorded an estimated filling rate of 41.56 percent, i.e. a rate of 94.46 percent, and the Sebou Basin 39.66, i.e. an average of 2,202 million cubic metres. cubic meters, with 33.64 percent recorded in the Malawi Basin, i.e. an average of 268 million cubic metres.

While the Ker-Zis-Gris Basin recorded a filling rate of 27.82 percent, i.e. an average of 87 million cubic metres, and a filling rate of 21.25 percent was recorded in the Draa-Oued Noun Basin, i.e. a rate of 157 million cubic metres. While the Bouregreg Basin measured 15.68 percent, i.e. an average of 169 million cubic metres, the Souss-Massa Basin 12.82 percent, i.e. an average of 93 million cubic metres, and the Oum Er Rbia Basin 6.66 percent, i.e. an average of 329 million cubic metres.
