The expansion of Brebes Regency, Central Java, into two, namely North Brebes Regency and South Brebes Regency, is necessary to improve public services. Therefore, efforts need to be made to make it happen.
This was conveyed by the candidate for Governor of Central Java, Andhika Perkasa, during a visit to the Bumiayu area, Brebes Regency, on Thursday (26/9) evening.
Adhika Perkasa and her partner Hendar Prihadi visited Bumiayu, Brebes Regency, to meet with PDIP cadre administrators and also their sympathizers, including activists for the expansion of Brebes Regency.
In front of the expansion activists, Andika expressed his commitment to fully support the expansion of the South Brebes region into its own autonomous region.
“I really understand the desires of the people of South Brebes who have felt that they have not received enough attention. Expansion is the right way to improve public services and community welfare,” said Andhika.
Andhika said that if he was elected governor of Central Java, he would be committed to realizing the expansion that the people of southern Brebes Regency have long wanted, namely Bumiayu District and the surrounding sub-districts, namely Paguyangan, Tonjong, Bantarkawung and Salem Districts.

“We promise to take concrete steps to encourage the realization of expansion, including by facilitating the necessary administrative and political studies,” said Andhika.
Member of the DPR RI for Electoral District (Dapil) IX Central Java (Regency/City of Brebes and Tegal), Haris Turino, who was also present at the event, also supported the idea of expanding the Brebes Regency area.
“I, along with Andika and Hendi, are ready to work together at the legislative and executive levels to speed up this process. South Brebes has great potential that needs to be managed independently,” said Haris.
According to Haris, the presence of Andhika and his team can provide fresh air for the struggle for expansion that has long been fought by the residents of South Brebes.
“With the campaign momentum continuing to increase, Andika’s support for this expansion is one of the important issues that can attract the sympathy of the people of South Brebes ahead of the 2024 regional elections,” explained Haris. (JI/J-3)
