The “student engineers” expressed their absolute solidarity with their fellow doctors who were subjected to “repression and intimidation,” during their participation in the protest organized yesterday, Thursday, in front of the University Hospital in Rabat, which was dispersed by public forces.

In this context, the National Coordination for Student Engineers in Morocco issued a statement in which it expressed its rejection of what it described as “the unacceptable, unacceptable, and degrading treatment with which medical students were treated by public forces.”

The Engineering Student Coordination explained that the medical students were about to organize a peaceful night sit-in that took into account all applicable protocols, as an expression of their rejection of the government’s proposal, which did not respond to most of their demands.

The Coordination of Student Engineers held the government fully responsible for the situation as a result of “irresponsible dealing with the demands of medical students.”

Accordingly, the Engineers of Tomorrow called on the National Committee for Medical and Pharmacy Students, the government, and all parties concerned with the issue to give priority to the national interest and to deal seriously with the various mediations to come up with a final solution to the crisis that has been going on for about 10 months, while they expressed their full readiness to engage in all forms of protest under the heading Party of the National Committee for Students of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy.

In addition, the coordination representing engineers called on students from all schools and national institutes for public engineering training to participate in forms of solidarity with medical students, which will be announced at a later time.

It should be noted that the protest, in which dozens of students, internists, and residents participated yesterday, Thursday, at the invitation of the National Committee for Internists and Residents, was broken up by public forces in the capital, Rabat, which left a widespread wave of condemnation among a number of bodies supporting Doctors of Tomorrow.
