The emerging artificial intelligence technology company, Nomi AI, is developing an artificial intelligence platform that aims to focus on specific points so that it can provide more accurate answers to users’ questions.

While the most popular artificial intelligence platform, ChatGPT, affiliated with OpenAI, researches everything from computation problems to historical research to provide answers, the Nomi platform focuses on a specific case: “artificial intelligence companions.” » It takes additional time to provide a better answer to the user’s messages by remembering their previous interactions and providing more accurate answers.

Alex Cardinale, CEO of NomiAI, said in statements to the TechCrunch website, which specializes in technology topics: “For us, we use the same principles (that OpenAI uses), but in a way that focuses more on what our users care about.” “Really, which is the memory and emotional intelligence side of things. Other AI platforms work through the thought chain, but we work more as a reflection chain or a memory chain.”

Large language models, the core component of AI technology, break down complex user requests into smaller questions.

For OpenAI’s zero/one model, this means converting a complex computational problem into individual steps, and allowing the large language model to work in the background to explain how to arrive at the correct solution to the problem. This means that the AI is less likely to become confused and provide incorrect answers.

But for Nomi, which has developed its own grand language model and is training it to deal with questions and problems in light of past memories and circumstances, the way to get to the answer is different.

If someone tells the “Nomi” platform that he had a difficult day at work, and wants to know the reason, the platform will remember that the user is not doing well in the presence of a particular colleague, for example, and asks the user: Was the day difficult in the presence of this colleague?

Nomi can then remind the user of how they have successfully reduced interpersonal conflicts in the workplace in the past, and offer more practical advice for dealing with this colleague’s presence.

“AI platforms remember everything,” Cardinale says, “but the most important role of AI is to identify memories that can actually be used.”
