CHAIRMAN of the Central Leadership Council (DPP) of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Puan Maharani denied that Tia Rahmania’s dismissal from cadre was due to criticizing the Deputy Chair of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nurul Ghufron. Puan emphasized that it had nothing to do with that.

“There’s no connection, because the event at Lemhmas (during Ghufron’s criticism) was held after the letter was sent to the KPU. So there’s no connection,” said Puan at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (26/9 ).

Puan said there was a misunderstanding. The chairman of the DPR said the accusations seemed to point to political parties’ dislike of the KPK.

“There should be no misunderstanding. There seems to be a difference or dislike between political parties and the KPK. There is no connection,” said Puan.

He was reluctant to respond further regarding Tia’s dismissal. Puan encouraged him to ask the PDIP DPP who was handling this matter, especially the party court.

“Yes, within the party, we have a party court which can decide internally whether one of the internal legislative candidates can be appointed or not appointed. But for details, please ask the party’s DPP,” said Puan.

Previously, Tia Rahmania and Rahmad Handoyo were fired from PDIP. This caused both of them to cancel their appointment as elected legislative candidates (legislative candidates) for the DPR.

This is known from the Republic of Indonesia General Election Commission (KPU) Decree Number 1368 of 2024. The letter was signed by the Chairman of the Republic of Indonesia General Election Commission (KPU) Mochamad Afifudin as of September 23 2024.

“Stipulating changes to the determination of the elected candidates for Members of the People’s Representative Council in the 2024 General Election, for the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle for the Electoral Districts of Central Java V and Banten I, as stated in the attachment to the decision which is an inseparable part of this decision,” wrote the letter, quoted on Thursday , September 26, 2024.

Meanwhile, Tia criticized Nurul Ghufron during a briefing session before being appointed as a member of the DPR at the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas), Monday, 23 September 2024. The briefing session had the theme ‘Strengthening National Values for Prospective DPR Members for the 2024-2029 Period’.

He brought up the case of Ghufron’s ethical violation which had been decided by the KPK Supervisory Board (Dewas). “It’s better for you to talk about your case, how you managed to pass the ethics council and then succeed at the PTUN. How did you make recommendations to ASN in your case, how did your other cases pass? Sorry sir, this is not our product. “Corruption is at the core of ethics and morals, Sir,” he said
