Eight-time Moto-GP world champion Marc Marquez admitted that he was looking forward to tough competition at the Indonesian GP this weekend at the Mandalika International Circuit, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.

The Gresini Racing racer is determined to finish well after failing to finish the race in the first two races in Mandalika.

“I have never finished a race in Indonesia like in 2022, I had a big accident during the warm-up session,” said Marquez as reported by BetweenFriday (27/9).

“It’s time to understand our level here, and the target is to be in the top four/five again,” he said.

The Spanish racer also admitted that he liked the Mandalika Circuit. “It’s not one of my favorites, but it’s a track I like that usually (race results here) are not very good, but I want to understand it with Ducati,” he said.

Marquez also admitted that he was happy every time he came to greet his fans in Indonesia.

According to him, MotoGP fans in Indonesia are very numerous and enthusiastic, which adds to their enthusiasm to perform as well as possible in every Indonesian GP.

“We know MotoGP is very big in Indonesia, and it’s great to see all the fans enjoying MotoGP. Let’s see if they can enjoy this weekend,” said Marquez. (Z-6)
