Leros: An employee in a structure is accused of raping children with mental retardation

The accused is a citizen who worked in the Structure for the offenses of continuous and continuous rape, sexual acts with a minor (seduction of children who have not reached the age of twelve) continuously and continuously, continuous and continuous neglect abuse and of negligence with abuse of power on a continuous and continuous basis.
The history of the case is said to be as follows, as reported by dimokratiki.gr:
On November 3, 2020, a foreigner residing in P.I.K.P.A. of Leros, went to the AT of Leros and reported that the accused, while working for a cleaning company in the Building, was sexually “harassing” the son of another resident of the Building since February 2020, aged 17 at the time, who has been diagnosed with mental retardation and further abuses her other son aged 4 years.

The juvenile was competently examined in the presence of a psychologist, who testified that the defendant, almost every day, after removing his pants, groped him on his genitals and forced him to grope his genitals himself, and stated that the same incident took place and with his two brothers.

He further stated that the accused committed gross misconduct with him on November 2, 2020.
The same incidents (apart from the act of indiscipline) were reported by the minor to his mother and to the head of the K.Y.T., who immediately fired him.
Subsequently, a forensic examination of the family’s seven children was ordered and findings of abuse were found in three of them. Another child examined showed signs of abuse. The same image was presented by a minor, who, despite hearing and speech problems, and while appearing sociable and happy, upon seeing the photograph or mentioning the name of the accused, his behavior drastically changed.
In particular, being examined in sign language before Investigator Kos, he nodded affirmatively when asked if the accused took off his clothes and beat him and pointed with his fingers that the above incident took place three times.
Further, when the minor was asked if the accused had sexually abused him, he turned pale and at the same time nodded in the affirmative while then, he tried to hide behind the court bench.
The accused, apologizing, denied the accusations and stated that since the beginning of 2020 he had been working as a cleaner in the migrant accommodation structure at the PIKPA Leros which has a small area and would be noticed.

The judicial council of Kos that examined the case decided that the acts of the accused took place, at night, in a spot in the courtyard, behind the building, where there is a canopy and a wall that delimits the house and is not guarded by security personnel.
As regards his claim that the complaint against him is a product of malice, revenge and obtaining money, in order to achieve their relocation of the parents of the minors, it was deemed untrue because the fact denounced the first other resident of the structure, and not the parents of the victims.
In addition, it was judged that all three minors, examined medically, presented signs of piercing in the anus, two of them subsequently described precisely the actions that the accused had committed against them and the other witnesses identified the place and approximate time they took place the actions of the accused, namely almost every day and at night in the courtyard.
