Sederrec invites repatriates to strengthen their MSMEs with financial support and training

Asunción, IP Agency.- The Secretariat of Development for Returnees and Connational Refugees (Sederrec) announced the launch of a new call aimed at returnees interested in strengthening or starting ventures, who reside in the departments of Alto Paraná, Caaguazú, San Pedro, Concepción, Canindeyú or Amambay.

Registration for this third call of the year will be carried out virtually from Wednesday, October 2 at 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 3. Those returnees who have a business underway or who wish to enable one may participate. To register, interested parties must access this link.

This program aims to provide non-refundable financial support to returnees so that they can acquire capital assets that allow them to strengthen their businesses or start new projects. However, the funds cannot be used to purchase merchandise or cover operating expenses, but rather will be used for physical investments that positively impact the ventures.

Selected projects will go through an evaluation and training process in key areas such as administration and finance, facilitated by a technical team. Beneficiaries must attend training workshops and interviews, as a preliminary step to access financial support.

Last year, this program benefited 79 repatriated entrepreneurs who returned from countries such as Argentina, Spain, Chile and the United States, among others. Sederrec granted a total of G. 1,000 million in financial support, while the beneficiaries contributed close to G. 4,000 million in their own investment, with projects that ranged from gastronomy and sewing to vehicle repair services.

The program seeks to both financially support returnees, as well as promote the formalization of their ventures, facilitating the taxpayer registration process and promoting participation in the formal economy. Additionally, the program’s impact on local economies is significant, as it injects capital that contributes to business growth and job creation in communities.

With this new call, Sederrec continues to strengthen its commitment to supporting compatriots who, after returning to the country, wish to contribute to economic development through their business initiatives.
