“I can do it”: influencer Maëva Ghennam wants to climb Mont Blanc and launches an appeal to find a guide

It’s difficult to have missed Kaizen, the documentary by Inoxtag, whose real name is Inès Benazzouz, a young YouTuber and streamer who took on the challenge a year ago of climbing Everest. Unveiled in cinema preview, before being published on YouTube, this documentary has been viewed more than thirty million times. Visibly inspired by the videographer’s journey, influencer Maëva Ghennam made it known that she too wanted to get into mountaineering.

For several days, the young woman known for having participated in various reality TV shows has been sharing her desire with her millions of “followers”. “ Everest, I don’t think so. A year of work, climbing mountains for a year, I won’t make it. But Mont Blanc, I can! », she assures in front of her phone, on her social networks. “ Even though I’m not natural and I’m all plastic, I love nature very much. I like it. I want to do it ».

“I don’t interest mountain people”

Visibly determined, the young woman even appealed to find a guide ready to accompany her on this climb. “ Please, I’m looking for a guide who will train me and climb Mont Blanc with me. I want to do it. I love the mountains too much and I love hiking too much “, she insists. But for the moment his request has remained a dead letter. “ Since I’ve been on social media, this is the first time I’ve made an announcement and not gotten a response. “, she explained, visibly confused at not having received a response. “ I don’t interest mountain people ».

Inoxtag’s project did not fail to provoke a reaction from mountain professionals, whether before or after the release of its documentary. Pascal Tournaire, journalist, graphic designer and photographer based in Chamonix, considered this climb “uninteresting”. He particularly fears that the climb of Everest, already overcrowded, will become a fashion. “ Inoxtag denounces this overcrowding but it also participates in it, it’s schizophrenic. His film will only increase this stupid craze », he declared to The Team ten days ago.
