Theodora Glixburg and Matthew Kumar: The wedding of the year

The bride, in a creation by Selia Krithariotis that reminds of a fairy tale, arrived accompanied by her brother Pavlos while her whole family is by her side.

Anna Maria’s mother, her brothers Nikolaos, Filippo, Alexia, her nieces, her sisters-in-law Marie Sandal and Nina Flor, are there to rejoice in Theodora’s absolute happiness.

The emotion was pervasive, as today, on this beautiful day, there is a great absence: that of the late King Constantine who has passed away.

The sacrament was performed by the Metropolitan of Syros, Tinos, Andros, Keas and Milos Dorotheos, while the best men and bridesmaids of the couple are, among others, Pavlos, Nikolaos, Philippos, Maria-Olympia, Achilles-Andreas and Arrietta Morales de Greece.

Princess Theodora appeared in the bridal veil, which Queen Anna Maria also wore when she married King Constantine in the same church on Friday, September 18, 1964.

The veil, of Irish origin, was hand-stitched in 1905, first worn by Anne Maria’s grandmother Princess Margaret of Connaught at her wedding with a Cartier diamond tiara.
