Sudanese Foreign Ministry: Al-Burhan will deliver the “Sudan Speech” tomorrow from New York

Sudan – Sudanese Foreign Minister Hussein Awad revealed meetings that were arranged between the President of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, with officials in the US administration, and others with a number of heads of state in New York, in addition to some events related to Sudan.

Today, Wednesday, the President of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council arrived in New York at the head of the Sudanese delegation participating in the work of the United Nations General Assembly at its 79th session, and he will deliver Sudan’s speech on Thursday, September 26.

In a statement to Al Jazeera Net, the Sudanese Foreign Minister said that meetings are scheduled to be held with officials in the US State Department, the US National Security Council, and the US Agency for International Development.

The minister added that Al-Burhan’s speech will address Sudan’s internal issue and the war imposed on the country, and address the countries of the world to deal with Sudan as an independent state, and not to interpret what is happening as an internal war, “but rather it is an external, regional war with its various dimensions, imposed on Sudan.”

He added that it is time to address the global conscience to stand with the Sudanese people in their ordeal, pointing out that he held meetings with his counterparts on the sidelines of the summit, which discussed areas of joint political and economic cooperation.

He also talked about the meeting that took place between him and the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, on the sidelines of the session, in which they discussed the distinguished bilateral relations.

He said, “I discussed with the minister the areas of reconstruction after the end of the war imposed on the country,” and added, “Qatar has strong hands over Sudan in several areas.”
