The Graz public prosecutor’s office will soon decide on possible charges. A spokesman for the public prosecutor’s office (StA) confirmed a corresponding report in the “Kleine Zeitung” on Friday.
The case happened in January: A 33-year-old was flown by helicopter to the LKH Graz after sustaining a serious injury during forestry work. During the emergency operation, the surgeon in charge of the operation is said to have taken her daughter into the operating room, and the 13-year-old is said to have even lent a hand herself.
In April there was an anonymous report about the matter. According to the Steiermärkische Krankenanstaltengesellschaft (KAGes), the operation itself was said to have been free of complications. However, only interns and students are permitted to be present in the operating room.
Allegations denied
According to the newspaper, the investigators from the Life and Life group of the Styrian State Criminal Police Office have now submitted their final report, which will be examined by the responsible public prosecutor, according to a spokesman for the StA. There have been investigations against three doctors and four members of the surgical team. According to the public prosecutor’s office, none of the accused have currently pleaded guilty in full. Some of the accused said they did not see the 13-year-old herself lend a hand during the emergency operation.
