Top league. GKS Katowice – Pogoń Szczecin. Crazy ending, “Portowcy” again in check – Sport

Top league. GKS Katowice – Pogoń Szczecin. “Portowcy” cannot stabilize their form

In the 7th minute, Kowalczyk wanted to finish a well-played GKS action. The midfielder shot well, but Pogoń’s goalkeeper did even better, throwing the ball over the crossbar.

However, the hosts were on the attack, quickly sending the ball forward and constructing their actions. Pogoń, on the other hand, did not resemble the team it is on its home pitch – playing boldly, forward and creating many goal-scoring opportunities.

After a quarter of an hour, the visitors came to the fore and Dawid Kudła could talk about happiness. After a strong shot by Vahan Bichakhchyan, the ball first bounced off the head of Fredrik Ulvestad and then off the crossbar of the GKS goal.

The halftime result was determined in the 33rd minute by the captain of the Silesian team, Arkadiusz Jędrych, who finished the action started by Kowalczyk with a throw-in from 12 meters away. The assist was provided by the shooter’s teammate from the defense line, Marten Kuusk.

The second part, in which the players’ play was hampered by rain at times, the Katowice team started with a missed shot by Jędrych. A moment later, Linus Wahlqvist headed the ball on the opposite side of the field, but Kudła saved it. The guests sped up the game and took the initiative.

After an hour of play it could have been 2-0, but Zrelak got into position too early and was offside. A quarter of an hour before the end, GKS wanted to increase the lead, but Zrelak failed to beat the goalkeeper after a header from an acute angle.

What failed in those situations, Bergier managed to seal the win for the newcomer… or at least it seemed so. Pogoń wanted to play until the end – a moment later they responded with a goal from Gorgon, who was introduced on the pitch in the second half.

When the home fans could have started to worry about a tense ending, Marzec closed the match by beating the goalkeeper from close range.

Pogoń once again showed that they play in short order – stabilizing their form should be the priority of the Port team.
